You Ask - I Answer

How do you determine the right technique for your clients?

Good therapy is certainly not one-size-fits-all! While one person may benefit greatly from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, another may benefit more from a Psychodynamic perspective or Solution-Focused. Just as my clients are individuals with different problems, personalities, and strengths, it is important to get to know them in depth and to pinpoint what exactly the client would like to change. This is established within the first few sessions.

What happens during our sessions?

During our initial session, I will collect information from you to give me an idea of your background as well as your future aspirations and where you would like to be. To do this, I interview you using a "biopsychosocial" framework so that I can get a well rounded idea of who you are, what you have been through, and where you would like to be.
After the initial information is gathered, we then focus on setting goals, building an alliance, and coming up with a treatment plan together.

How long does each therapy session take?

The initial session takes one hour, and following sessions usually are slotted for 45 minutes. However, I can do one hour sessions when requested, and I will if we are bringing other people into our session (i.e. a family session or a session with a loved one).

Can anybody find out that I talk to you?

The fact that we meet is completely confidential. This is your safe space to heal, vent, and explore.
